The TORPEDOES SWIM TEAM is a small, developmental swim team where swimmers learn what it is like to be a part of a team.  Swimmers will learn how to:

  • read a workout
  • how to circle swim on intervals using a pace clock
  • how to do racing starts, turns and finishes
  • and build their endurance.

Stroke instruction and development is an integral part of this swim team, however, this is not a weekly “learn to swim” lesson.

Swimmers wishing to join must know all four competitive strokes: Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Freestyle, and be able to swim the length of the pool (25 yards).

We have 4-5 meets throughout the season.  Most meets do not have disqualifying judges; the Torpedoes are just learning what it is like to participate in a meet. The emphasis is on being a part of a swim team and having a good time!
